What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will lead groundwater assessments and hydrogeological studies to support infrastructure, environmental, and resource development projects. Your role will involve analyzing groundwater flow, assessing aquifer characteristics, impact assessment, and making recommendations for regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with clients, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure hydrogeologic studies align with environmental policies and engineering best practices. Your day may include leading teams to conduct field investigations, report writing, stakeholder engagement, interpreting hydrogeological data, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development efforts.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead hydrogeological assessments and groundwater flow modeling.
  • Lead teams to conduct field investigations, including well installations and aquifer testing.
  • Analyze hydrogeological data to assess groundwater availability and quality.
  • Provide expertise in surface water-groundwater interactions.
  • Develop groundwater monitoring programs and interpret results.
  • Lead hydrogeology projects including impact assessments and environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal water regulations.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior hydrogeologists and provide technical guidance.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions.
  • Engage with stakeholders, government agencies, and Indigenous communities.
  • Manage projects including technical work delivery, budget, schedule, and communications.
  • Build and maintain internal and external client relationships, and work with the senior leadership team to help drive the business plan.
  • Prepare technical reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Some travel and overtime may be required.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in hydrogeological investigations and groundwater modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrogeological software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW).
  • Familiarity with provincial and federal water regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and regulatory consultation.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as all aspects of project development and delivery (i.e., proposal through to deliverables, including time and budget management).
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence is required.
