What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will provide leadership in water resource management, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and watershed assessments for infrastructure, municipal, and environmental projects. Your role will involve analyzing precipitation, streamflow, and groundwater interactions, impact assessments and making recommendations for regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory agencies, and clients to ensure hydrologic studies align with environmental policies and engineering best practices. Whether leading flood risk assessments, developing climate change adaptation strategies, or mentoring junior staff, your expertise will contribute to resilient and sustainable water resource solutions. Your day may include fieldwork, report writing, stakeholder engagement, and supporting business development initiatives.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct hydrologic modeling and watershed analysis for infrastructure and environmental projects.
  • Develop water balance assessments and flood risk management strategies.
  • Analyze climate change impacts on hydrology and water resources.
  • Provide expertise in surface water-groundwater interactions.
  • Lead hydrologic data collection, monitoring programs, and field assessments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and environmental scientists on integrated water management.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions.
  • Mentor junior hydrologists and engineers.
  • Engage with stakeholders, government agencies, and Indigenous communities.
  • Manage projects including technical work delivery, budget, schedule, and communications.
  • Lead surface water resources projects, including watershed management, impact assessments, natural channel design, flood mapping, and environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Build and maintain internal and external client relationships, and work with the senior leadership team to help drive the business plan.
  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required.

 

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, Hydrology, Water Resources, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in water resources engineering, hydrologic assessments, and/or modeling.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic software (e.g., HEC-HMS, SWAT, MIKE SHE, HEC-RAS, SWMM) is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrological processes and climate adaptation strategies.
  • Experience in regulatory permitting and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead projects and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as all aspects of project development and delivery (i.e., proposal through to deliverables, including time and budget management).
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence is required.
